INSTALL GUIDES

ACRYLIC HOUSE SIGNS

1. POSITION

Position and tape the supplied fitting template on your wall where you would like your sign to go, making sure its level and exactly where you would like your sign to be.

2. DRILL

Setup your drill with a 6mm drill bit and drill directly through the paper template on your wall in the centre of the circles marked with a cross for your chosen sign.

3. FIXINGS

With the holes drilled, simply plug each hole with the supplied wall plugs and screw each supplied locator directly into each wall plug. The supplied screws go directly through the locator fixing first, and then screw directly to the wall.

4. FINISH

With the holes drilled, simply plug each hole with the supplied wall plugs and screw each supplied locator directly into each wall plug. The supplied screws go directly through the locator fixing first, and then screw directly to the wall.

TOP TIPS:

  • It helps to avoid any grout and keep the template taped tightly against the wall to avoid missing the desired location for the holes when drilling.
  • When pushing your sign into place, make sure not to push too heavily on any text or part of your sign which is not directly above the locator fixing as this can damage the sign.

PRINTED VINYL WALLPAPER

1. SIZE

Remember the old saying, measure twice – cut once. First, make sure your vinyl is cut to the right size for the area you would like to apply it. You can cut it down by measuring out your design on the back of the print, and simply use scissors, or for a cleaner finish a scalpel/cutting knife to cut your vinyl down to size.

2. CLEAN

Make sure the surface you want to apply it on is clean. You should make sure your surface is clean but not damp. Clean the surface with a very diluted washing liquid to clear away any dust and oil residue. Do not use any ammonia based cleaners, if in doubt use water only. Wipe dry with a lint free cloth to remove any excess moisture off where you’re going to apply your vinyl. The mroe time you spend on this step, the better the end result will be.

3. APPLY

Place your vinyl in the desired position and start by peeling off a little of the vinyl from the top edge. You can use this sticky edge to line up your design against it’s back drop and then slowly remove more of the backing as you go.

Use our purchaseable squeegee or another flat tool to smooth out the vinyl as you go, this will ensure there are no bubbles.

If you feel you might struggle with this part, it can help to tape across the middle of the vinyl with masking tape, creating a lever or arch to work with and effectively halfing the amount of vinyl you need to currently worry about applying.

You’re all done, well done! Please make sure to send us some photos or your completed projects as we really do love to see them and the awesome creations you have come up with. The best ones will feature in our online social media and recieve a voucher code money off your next order.

TOP TIPS:

  • Applying it to a wall? For the best results, overlap a small amount of the vinyl for a more proffesional finish and to make sure none of the edges catch. Vinyl can shrink over time, this will help with that.
  • Make sure the tool you use to apply your vinyl doesn’t scratch the surface. For best results use a soft felted squeegee to apply your vinyl to your project. We sell squeegee’s aswell as a more robust fitting kit with everything you need via our online store. Check those out for more information.

DIY VEHICLE KITS

1. CLEAN

Clean the vehicle surface with soap and water, making sure there is no grease or dirt left behind. An Isopropanol or alcahol based cleaner will help best here to get rid of any glue and road tar on the vehicle surface.

2. POSITION

Place and position each decal you wish to apply on to your vehicle. The best way to do this for our DIY vehicle kits would be to place a small piece of masking tape on the top corner of each decal and lay the whole design out on your vehicle before sticking the decals down. This way you can get the positioning correct and make sure everything is spaced out as intended before taking the next step.

3. APPLY

Now that all your graphics are in the correct position, its now time to apply them. It can help to put some masking tape in the centre top and bottom of each graphic. Then peel back half of the graphic, fold the paper out of the way and applying force with your squeegee work your way out from the centre in a back and forth motion making sure go squeegee over the whole graphic as you go. Once you have finished you should go over the whole graphic again using adequate force.

4. REVEAL

Once all your graphics have been applied, very slowly peel back the application paper from your vehicle to reveal your graphics. It can help to leave your graphics for 30 mins before removing the paper to aid in the reveal process. If you have any trapped air bubbles in your graphics you can pop these with a pin and gently work the air out with a squeegee, being careful not to damage your graphics in the process.

TOP TIPS:

  • It may sound silly, but the more time you spend cleaning your vehicle during the first step, the better the end result will be. Vinyl is not a cover-up solution to hide damage on your vehicle, and if anything only highlights the errors and dirt left behind before suitably cleaning.
  • When positioning your graphics on your vehicle, it looks better to apply them at a 45 degree angle or the same angle as the vans sliding door bar, rather than direclty straight. You can make your own judgment on which looks better for your vehicle.
  • To avoid any letters or graphics tearing during the reveal stage, it can grealy help to do this step as slowly as possible. It can take up to 4 weeks for the graphics to fully adhere to your vehicle so any slight lifting on smaller letters is normal if there wasnt enough force applied during the installation.
  • Please do not clean your vehicle for up to 4 weeks after installation to give your graphics enough time to fully adhere to your vehicle. You should only hand wash your vehicle and never use a high-powered or jet wash cleaner on your vehicle once the graphics are applied. This can and will damage the graphics, especially any smaller text causing them to crumble or lift off entirely.
